KARL BROADIE
Scottish
born roots singer-songwriter Karl Broadie has accolades from around the globe
for both his live performances & his recordings. The ABC Music Recording
Artist is rapidly being recognised as one of Australia's most unique and dynamic
songwriters. Karl has seen two of his albums top the Americana charts in the
UK, as well as playing highly successful tours in the UK. Winning the Americana/Roots
category of the prestigious International Songwriting Competition for his
hit single 'Black Crow Callin' and with two Golden Guitar Nominations under
his belt, most recently for Best Vocal Collaboration with country music star
Dianna Corcoran on 'Count Your Blessings'. Karl's latest Album 'One Million
Emeralds' has been received with much love, praise & recognition.
2007 welcomed
further acclaim as Karl was invited to play the special guest spot on a sold
out national tour with Austin, Texas-based Roots singer-songwriter Patty Griffin
on her very first tour of Australia, which proved to be a hugely successful
and inspiring tour for both the musicians and the fans.
Recently
added to the roster on Mushroom Music, early 2008 saw Karl make his first
songwriting visit to Austin & Nashville, which included co-writing with
Kim Richey, Rebecca Lynn Howard and many more.
With a
new album on the horizon. Internationally acclaimed producer Craig Ross whose
credits include: Patty Griffin's 'Impossible Dream' and Natalie Merchant's
'Ophelia' will be at the helm
there's much to look forward to in the
year ahead.
