RENO JAMES
Reno James
(Reynold Indich) has been a singer/songwriter for 22 years spanning from gospel,
easy listening, indigenous, rock and country. Reno has recorded 17 albums
over the years covering the experiences of his life. Reno has performed and
recorded locally in Perth, interstate and internationally in the U.S.A. and
also Mauritius.
Reno plays
many instruments including the didgeridoo and has produced most of the music
on his albums, although he has had many musicians such as Lucky Ocean, Hank
Marvin from "The Shadows", Rabbit Eastern - slide guitar player
who played for George Jones and others who played for numerous Nashville Country
music singers contribute to his latest album which he hopes to release within
the year.
Reno was
invited in 2003 to perform at the annual reconciliation conference in Atlanta,
Georgia U.S.A. and during the three months of this visit Reno recorded some
of his music on CD and DVD. Reno also performed in Nashville, Tennessee and
visited Graceland in Memphis, which was one of his dreams.
Reno's
voice has often been compared with Elvis Presley, Randy Travis and Chris Isaacs,
however, he has a style all his own. Reno was the WAMI Indigenous songwriter
of the year in 1998 and was nominated for the ARIA awards in 2002 for the
children's songs from the "Heartbeat' album that he wrote and produced.
He was also WAMI songwriter of the year in 2004.
Reno travels
annually to the Kimberly performing to the remote areas and continues to do
what he does best - sharing his life experiences through his music and song
and enjoys helping and sharing with other musicians along the way.
