Beautiful and normally peaceful Amamoor Creek State Forest Park provides the perfect setting for this quintessential Aussie event, with over 50 hectares of well maintained, planned camping facilities, plenty of hot showers and toilets, and a central entertainment precinct. Located 40-kilometres south-west of Gympie, it's an easy drive 2-hours north of Brisbane, just 40-minutes from stunning Noosa and heritage listed Fraser Island. The 20-minute forest drive from Amamoor is easily accessible by all vehicle types, with several creek crossings easily negotiated... just watch for meandering cows! The entertainment precinct itself boasts 13 on-site venues each hosting its own array of talent during the six-day festival. Each venue is housed under huge marquee structures to ensure patrons enjoy the entertainment whatever weather. The massive dual Main Stage is held within a natural amphitheatre under the forest canopy. CAMPING - The Muster's picturesque 50-hectare site is an ideal location for this great festival. The forest becomes a mini-city at the end of August each year, with a general store, sit-down and take-away food and bar outlets, phones, EFTPOS and other essential services. Clearly laid out camping grounds are all within easy walking distance to the entertainment area and regularly serviced toilets and hot showers are distributed throughout the site. Camping costs are included in the one ticket price (Camping only available for the duration of the ticket purchased, or, if a season pass has been purchased, from August 21, 2009 - click here for details on camping prior to this date) and grounds are accessible by caravan, motorhome, bus and other large vehicles... although there are plenty of utes and swags to be seen! more |
