Ticket Terms & Conditions

This ticket is sold or provided (including any resale or subsequent assignment) on the express condition that the holder is bound by the rules & regulations issued by the event organiser, Gympie Muster Ltd (ABN 90 147 875 401). By purchasing this ticket you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions contained herein and on the Gympie Muster website.

‘You’ and ‘Your’ refers to the customer. ‘We’, ‘Us’, ‘Our’, ‘Muster’ and ‘Event Organiser’ refers to Gympie Muster Ltd its employees, contractors, volunteers and authorized persons. This agreement means these terms and conditions and any other conditions specified by Us on Our website and booking forms.

Directions of Muster Staff: You must follow the reasonable directions of Muster staff as required and comply with the law at all times during the event.

Proof of Age: The Muster is open to all ages. You must have proof of age photo ID to purchase or consume alcohol in the Muster Site. We reserve the right to evict any underage person (or persons unable to provide proof of age ID) if found trying to purchase or consuming alcohol.

Conditions of Sale: All bookings and ticket purchases are non-transferable and may not be sold or transferred by You.

All tickets and products are priced in Australian dollars, which are inclusive of GST. We reserve the right to charge a fee for the following:

  • $20 fee for the replacement of lost, destroyed or stolen tickets hard copy tickets.
  • booking fees, including credit card surcharges, to cover administrative costs.
    • Ticket re-issue fee (change the name on your ticket) up to 2 times. This incurs a fee of $20 per ticket. Ticket re-issues will close at 9am Monday 20th August 2018.

Your electronic ticket is your ticket to the event and must be presented at the event entry to gain entry. Your ticket will be emailed to the email address specified during booking as a PDF attachment once your credit card has been successfully charged.

Refund and Cancellation Policy: As the Gympie Music Muster is a charity it does NOT provide refunds on tickets or service fee except where required by law or in accordance with Live Performance Australia’s Ticketing Code of Practice. The Muster is an all weather event and will take place rain, hail or shine. No refunds will be made if You choose not to attend due to inclement weather. Incorrect purchases are NOT guaranteed a refund and are at the discretion of the event organiser.

There will be no refund on any unused portion of tickets if You or Your invitees are asked or forced to leave or if You decide not to attend any part of the Event.  In exceptional circumstances the Apex Club of Gympie may consider a refund request in writing outlining the exceptional circumstances faced by an individual.

We reserve the right to change, add, reschedule or substitute artists and/or vary advertised programs, prices, venues, seating arrangements and audience capacity, vary the Muster Site and/or the Camping Site without prior notification and deny admission to the Muster Site and/or Camping Site (including admission to a particular performance at the Muster Site) with reasonable cause.

In the unlikely event of the cancellation in advance of the Muster, We will provide a refund less an amount to cover the cost of ticketing.

Ticket Restrictions: It is a condition of sale that tickets may not be offered for unauthorised re-sale, on 3rd party websites such as Ebay or Gumtree. Tickets may not be resold or offered for resale at a premium (including online auction sites) or used for advertising, promotion or other commercial purposes (including but not limited to competitions and trade promotions) or to enhance the demand for other goods or services, either by the original purchaser or any subsequent bearer. If a ticket is used in breach of these conditions, it may be cancelled without refund and the bearer of the ticket may be refused admission. Tickets cannot be used as part of any marketing, media or sales promotion whether commercial or non-commercial without the prior written consent of the Event organisers.

Ticket Purchase Limits: Any tickets purchased in excess of the event Ticket/Transaction limit may be cancelled at the discretion of the Muster.

Privacy Policy: In order to purchase Your ticket, We may need to collect and keep personal information about You including Your name, address, credit card or payment details, telephone number and the names of all ticket allocations. Unless You tell Us otherwise, We may disclose Your contact details to third parties so they can provide You with promotional material about other events and products. We may also need to disclose Your personal information as required by law or as permitted under the Privacy Act. Our Privacy Policy outlines how We will handle Your personal information.

RFID Wristbands: Your ticket will be exchanged for an RFID wristband that you MUST keep on for the duration of the event. Anyone entering the site without a valid wristband will be deemed to have trespassed and will be handed over to the Police.

Damaged or defaced wristbands will not be accepted and wristbands which are removed or tampered with will be rendered invalid and will not be replaced. Replacement is not available for lost, destroyed or stolen wristbands, unless proof of purchase is presented.

Entry Conditions:  The Event is open to all ages. Patrons under the age of 18 years that attend the Event must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times in accordance with the Qld Liquor Act 1992. Who is a responsible adult for a minor, each of the following persons is a responsible adult for a minor (a) A parent, step parent or guardian of the minor, (b) an adult who has parental rights and responsibilities for the minor. Children who behave in a disorderly, disruptive or inappropriate manner may at the sole discretion of the Event organisers be required to leave. In that instance, the guardian of minor in question will also be required to leave the festival.

Admission to the Muster site (including campgrounds) is at the ticket holders own risk. Appropriate footwear and clothing must be worn at all times whilst on the Muster site. You acknowledge that neither We nor the venue will be responsible for any loss or damage to property (including personal property such as bags, money or other personal items) brought to or purchased at the Event by You or Your invitees. You will be liable for any loss or damage caused at the Event by You or Your invitees. In the event of injury or illness We may, at Your cost, arrange medical treatment and/or emergency evacuation as deemed essential for your safety.

Animals are not permitted on the Muster site (including campgrounds), except in accordance with legislation.

The Muster site (including campgrounds) is a Glass Free Zone. No glass is to be brought into any part of the venue.

Search on Entry: It may be a condition of entry to the Event that a search of Your person and/or Your possessions is required at the time of entry to the venue. Glass, alcohol, weapons, illegal substances or any item the Event organisers consider may be used in an illegal or offensive manner may be confiscated. Refusal to consent to a search will prevent entry to the Event, without refund. Sealed plastic water bottles will be permitted to be brought into the Event. The contents of any opened plastic water bottles will not be permitted into the venue.

30 minutes – 1 hour after the last act on mainstage, a volunteer community group will come and move all your items to the nearest tree on the hill. The purpose of this is so that the volunteer group can clean the hill appropriately for the next day. If you do happen to leave your items on the hill, we are not responsible for where it ends up the next day.

Recording of the Muster: Audio or visual recordings of the Event are prohibited. Still cameras (not professional) are permitted but images may only be used for private purposes and not public display. By attending the Event, You consent to being included in any film and/or sound recordings of the Event that may take place and agree for these recordings to be used by the Event Organiser. Camera phones and video footage is permitted to be shared on social media.

Behaviour:  You must ensure that You and Your invitees act in an orderly manner when attending the Event. We may refuse entry or evict You or any of Your invitees if they are behaving in a disorderly, offensive, threatening or inappropriate manner towards any person.

Smoking Policy:  No smoking is permitted in any indoor area of the Muster. The Muster has smoking only areas where food and drink cannot be consumed.

Alcohol: The Muster venue is fully licensed, therefore only alcohol purchased from bars at the Muster may be consumed on site. BYO alcohol will not be permitted within the Muster venue and will be confiscated. Any Patron wishing to consume alcohol must have valid photographic ID (Australian driver’s license, ’Proof of Age’ card or valid Passport). We reserve the right to evict patrons who disobey or break Responsible Service of Alcohol legislation and the law.

You must be of legal age (18 years) to purchase and consume alcohol at the Muster. If you are found supplying or buying alcohol for a minor (a person under 18 years of age) you will be evicted from the Event and will be referred to the police.

Drugs: if you are found supplying, consuming or in possession of illicit drugs anywhere on the Muster site (including campgrounds) you will be evicted from the premises and will be referred to the police.

Signage: Trading signs or other signs are not permitted without prior written consent of the Muster. No ticket holder is entitled to do any trading without the written consent of the Event organisers.

Camping:  Every person camping on the site during the Muster must have a ticket. No refunds will be made should you decide not to camp or attend the Muster due to inclement weather. Camping is only permitted in designated areas and not beyond the marked perimeter and State Forest Park guidelines (available from Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service) apply. The Muster will not be responsible for any belongings left behind.

Roadways and designated trails must be kept clear. Public road rules apply, obey all traffic signs.

Fires are only permitted when the Muster has been granted a fire permit. Wood fires are only permissible in suitable metal fire drums/containers. Firewood is available for purchase from Community Groups onsite.

Unruly behaviour, loud music or noise will not be tolerated and may result in Your removal from the campgrounds. You will be removed from the campgrounds if you behave in a threatening or inappropriate manner (aggressive, riotous, abusive, or insulting actions) towards other campers or Muster staff.

Environment: The Muster cares for the environment. Place any litter in the recycle or other bins provided around the Muster site (including campgrounds).

Recorded images:  Gympie Music Muster reserves the right to use official photographs, video, or other digital media (“photo”) taken at the event in any and all of its publications, including web-based publications, without payment or other consideration. This shall apply in perpetuity.   The Muster reserves the right to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, or distribute these photos for any lawful purpose. In addition, the Muster does not require the subject’s approval for use of material wherein the likeness appears. the subject shall have no right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of the photo.

Release: To the fullest extent permitted by law, We do not accept liability of any nature for the acts, omissions or default of those providing services in connection with the Event or any liability for any injury, damage, loss, delay or additional expenses which are incurred at or in association with this Event. Where legislation implies any condition or warranty which cannot be excluded or modified, that condition or warranty will be deemed to be included in this agreement. However, Our liability for any breach of such condition or warranty will be limited, at Our option, to the resupply of the services or the cost of having the services supplied again. In no event will We be liable for any indirect, consequential, exemplary or special damages.

Jurisdiction: This agreement is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

Terms & Conditions of Entry

  1. General Information
    1. Information on how to enter and prize details form part of these conditions.  Entry into this competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions of entry.
    2. The competition is run by Gympie Muster Limited ABN 90 147 875 401 of 26 Channon Street, Gympie QLD, 4570 (“GML”).
    3. The competition starts and ends on the dates set out in the Key Competition Dates section below (“Competition Period”).

  1. Entry Conditions:
    1. Entry into the 2018 Muster Talent Search is open to all Australian residents, aged 12 years and over (must have turned 12 years old by August 1, 2018) and by completing the entry form (“Eligible Entrant”).
    2. Members, management, employees and contractors (and their immediate family members) of GML or the Apex Club of Gympie and any agencies, firms or companies associated with the 2018 Talent Search (including the suppliers of prizes), as well as any previous winners of the Talent Search are ineligible to enter.
    3. Individuals or Groups with existing music publishing or recording contracts are excluded from the competition and are not considered to be Eligible Entrants. 
    4. Eligible Entrants in the 2018 Muster Talent Search are excluded from performing in the Emerging Artists Program at the 2018 Gympie Music Muster.
  1. Categories
    1. The 2018 Muster Talent Search will consist of two (2) competition categories:
      1. Junior Category (Restricted to Eligible Entrants aged 12yrs to 17yrs):  In recognition of the very talented young artists, Entrants may choose songs from alternative country, pop country, rock country, indie country, blues & roots, Australiana or folk music.  Own compositions are also accepted.
  • To be eligible for the Junior Category, entrants must have turned 12 years old by 1st August, 2018.
      1. Open Category  (Open to all Eligible Entrants aged 18+): Celebrating country music ‘in all its forms’ and can include alternative country, pop country, rock country, indie country, blues & roots, Australiana or folk music.  Own compositions are also accepted.
  • To be eligible for the Open Category, entrants must have turned 18 years old by 1st August 2018.
  1. How to Apply
    1. To enter any of the competition categories, an Eligible Entrant (or guardian) must visit the “APPLY” tab on the Gympie Music Muster website at www.muster.com.au and submit a valid application before 11:59pm AEST, Saturday, 30 June 2018.
    2. A valid application means:
  1. The Eligible Entrant (or parent/guardian) has completed the online entry form in full, including their name, address, contact phone number, email, and date of birth.
  2. The Eligible Entrant has uploaded one clear and presentable photograph of the Eligible Entrant, in high definition .JPEG format, with their application, which is to be no larger than 2MB in size.
  3. Entry to the competition is free, however the application must be complete.
  4. The Eligible Entrant has included a maximum of two (2) audition performances.  Each video clip submitted must:
    1. Be provided via a working YouTube, Soundcloud or Facebook URL Link, and not be blocked by firewalls or requiring passwords to access;
    2. Be no longer than 4 minutes in duration;
    3. Be a performance of and by the Eligible Entrant, or which prominently features the Eligible Entrant;
    4. Be a song which is appropriate for the category, as per the category descriptions in Clause 4.
    1. Incomplete, incorrect and illegible entries, entries containing illegal, offensive or defamatory content, or entries which breach any law or infringe any third party rights (including intellectual property rights) may be deemed by GML, at its discretion, to be ineligible entries.
    2. Incomplete or late applications may or may not be accepted by GML, at its absolute discretion.
    3. GML may, at its discretion, request that entrants correct or complete an ineligible entry, so that it may become eligible.

  1. Judging: First & Second Rounds – Digital Heats
    1. After entries close on 30th June 2018, all Valid Applications will be assessed by a selected panel of judges.  A selection of applications will be invited to perform in the 2018 Muster Talent Search Semi-Finals on Friday, 24th and Saturday, 25th August 2018.  GML reserves the right to select the number of Semi-Finalists in its absolute discretion, subject to GML’s programming constraints. 
  1. Judging: Talent Search Semi-Final and Grand Final
    1. An independent judging panel will be selected specifically for Semi-Final and Grand Final Rounds.  The judging panel will remain confidential until the day of the event.
    2. An audience vote may make up part of the performance score for Grand Final only.
  1. Semi Final and Grand Final Performance Rules 
    1. Finalists may perform unaccompanied (a Capella), acoustically, or with a live backing band. GML will provide the backing band to accompany the Semi-Finalists and Grand Finalists.  The Musical Director will be in contact with the Eligible Entrant for any scoring or arrangement needs.
    2. Acoustic instrumental backing may be performed by the Finalist or, if not by the Finalist, by no more than two (2) accompanying musicians. An accompanying musician is not permitted to sing lead vocals and must provide their own instruments. Finalists are not permitted to use backing tracks or special effects in their performance.  Finalist must arrange to purchase event tickets for any accompanying musicians participating in their performances.
    3. All material performed in either of the Semi-Final or the Grand Final is to be relevant to the category descriptions, as set out in Clause 4, however Eligible Entrants may choose different songs than their audition songs submitted.

    1. A schedule of prizes for each category is set out in clause 10.2 to 10.5 of these Terms & Conditions.  GML reserves the right to update the schedule of prizes at any time prior to the Semi-Final Competition on 25th August 2018, including removing or replacing prizes noted in these schedules where these prizes become unavailable.  GML will endeavour to provide a prize of equal or similar value to the prizes noted in the schedule where possible.
    1. Junior Talent Winner will receive:
  • $250 CASH
  • NATIONAL PUBLICITY through a profile in a national magazine.
  • INDUSTRY MEETINGS – 2 x Jeff Chandler from Chandler MusicWorks in person or via skype

  1. Tickets to the 2018 Gympie Music Muster
    1. Any OPEN Category contestant invited to participate in the 2018 Muster Talent Search Semi-Final on Friday, 24th and Saturday 25th August 2018 will be provided with a 1-Four Day General Admission pass.
    2. And JUNIOR Category contestant invited to participate in the 2018 Muster Talent Search Semi-Final on Friday, 24th and Saturday 25th August 2018 will be provided with 1-Four day General Admission Adult ticket and 1-Four day General admission Teen ticket.
    3. No complimentary tickets will be provided to accompanying musicians, friends or supporters of the contestants, however tickets are available for sale online (www.muster.com.au), or at the event entrance gates.
  1. Minors
    1. Entrants aged under 18 years must have the consent of their parent or legal guardian to enter the 2018 Muster Talent Search (which GML may request in writing).
    2. If an Eligible Entrant is under the age of 18 years, they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian when travelling to and from the Semi-Finals or Grand Finals. All costs associated with a parent or legal guardian accompanying an Eligible Entrant are the responsibility of that Eligible Entrant.
    3. Any entrant (and their parent/guardian if under 18 years), may be required to sign a release and indemnity form in favour of GML and return the document to GML prior to taking their Prize.
  1. Intellectual Property & Recording Consent
    1. By submitting an application for the 2018 Muster Talent Search, an Eligible Entrant acknowledges, consents and agrees with regards to performances submitted as part of a Valid Application,  GML may, at its sole discretion and in good faith, use or broadcast part or full performances of the Eligible Entrant, through any medium it deems appropriate, for the purpose of promoting the Gympie Music Muster and/or the Muster Talent Search event without further reference or payment or other compensation to the Eligible Entrant.
    2. Semi-Finalists and Grand Finalists acknowledge, consent and agree to GML, through its sponsors, media partners, employees or contractors capturing still or video photographic images of the Finalists during the Gympie Music Muster, including candid activities and during any performances.
    3. All Eligible Entrants consent and agree to GML using any captured material solely for the use and purpose of promoting the Gympie Music Muster and/or the Muster Talent Search event in perpetuity, provided that the material is used in good faith and does not seek to bring the Eligible Entrant’s reputation into disrepute or ridicule; or
    4. All Eligible Entrants acknowledges that Gympie Music Muster media partners may capture, record and broadcast photos, audio recordings and video recordings as they see fit.  GML is not responsible for the broadcasting discretion of its media partners.
    5. All Eligible Entrants fully indemnify GML from any action, claim or proceedings arising from the use of images or recordings captured at the Gympie Music Muster for any purpose other than archival and promotional purposes of GML.
  1. Miscellaneous
    1. Judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.  Judges are under no obligation to provide feedback or comments in respect of a performance.
    2. GML reserves the right to either use the same judges for each round of judging, select a new panel for each round of judging, or change and existing panel of judges from one round to the other.  Identity of judges may be disclosed at GML’s discretion, however GML reserves the right to keep the identity of any judge confidential until the day of a competition event.
    3. If GML considers that an Entrant has not complied with the Terms and Conditions or does not respond to competition organisers in a timely manner, or does not adhere to deadlines set by competition organisers, GML in its absolute discretion may disqualify the contestant from the competition.
    4. All Eligible Entrants in every category must be available to attend the Gympie Music Muster site in the Amamoor Creek State Forest on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th August 2018 for Semi-final heats, and be on-site from 11:00am.
    5. All Grand Finalists must be available on Sunday 26th August 2018 and be on-site from 9:30am.
    6. If any Finalist is unavailable to attend, is late to, or acts in an inappropriate manner in either Semi-Final or Grand Final, GML in its absolute discretion may disqualify the Finalist from the competition.
    7. GML accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of a Prize.  Prize products provided by events sponsors or partners, may be substituted by similar products of same or similar style and value, at the discretion of the prize provider.
    8. If GML is unable to provide a winner with a nominated Prize, the Promoter reserves the right to supply an alternative prize of equal or greater monetary value to the nominated Prize.
