VOLUNTEER for the MUSTER TEAM in 2019 

Muster is built on mateship.  Volunteering with us guarantees fun, community connection, and admission to the extended Muster family.  We have a number of volunteer positions on offer for pre-festival setup, while the action’s happening, and with the post-festival pack down team.  If you’d like to lend a hand, give a cooee by filling out our volunteer application form.

PRE & POST FESTIVAL      Like getting your hands dirty?  Join the team that ensures our festival grounds are in tip top shape. Jobs are varied and will include building, painting, gardening and general labour.  

Skill set:  A willingness to pitch in.  

Shifts:  Various, from Sunday 18 – Wednesday 21 August (pre-festival) + Monday 26 – 30 August (post festival).  Choose option ‘Pre Festival’ or ‘Post festival’ in your volunteer application preferences.

 

AT THE EVENT

Volunteer Hub       Like being in the heart of the action? Our ‘Vollie Hub’ team of volunteers assist in many areas and provide support wherever required all over the festival grounds. This role is varied but may include roving cleaning, program and merchandise sales, assisting patrons with directions or questions and helping in festival venues, stalls or scheduled events.  

Skill set:  A friendly disposition, positive attitude and a willingness to roll up your sleeves. Duties in the Volunteer Hub will involve walking around the venue, some bending and light lifting. 

 Shifts: Thursday 22 – Sunday 25 August inclusive from 10am – 4pm or 1.30pm – 7.30pm.  Choose option ‘Vollie Hub’ in your volunteer application preferences.

Kids Country        Are you fun, energetic, enjoy working with children and hold a current Working with Children Police Check? Sign up as a volunteer in our exciting Kids Country venue! We need people willing to assist children of multiple ages with craft activities and workshops, setting/packing up activities, restocking craft supplies and monitoring the venue entrance.

 Skill set: Working with Children police check, a love for children, fun and creativity.  

Shifts:  Thursday 22 – Sunday 25 August inclusive. 10am – 4pm.  Choose option ‘Kids Country’ in your volunteer application preferences.

Bars and Other Areas 

Not already signed up with one of our local community groups and would like to volunteer in the bars, at the gate or delivering different aspects of the festival? Many of our community groups need filling their rosters.  Please nominate your preferred area, and we will forward your application to the Community Group Coordinators to get in touch with you.

 Skill set:  People person.  Responsible service of Alcohol certificate preferred but not essential.    

Shifts:  Thursday 22 – Sunday 25 August inclusive.  Choose option ‘Bars’ or ‘Other Areas’ in your volunteer application preferences.

Volunteering as part of a local COMMUNITY GROUP?  Please speak to your group supervisor prior to the commencement of festival regarding registration requirements.

Volunteer Rewards

Being part of a connected team working to benefit the local community has its own rewards.  But there’s also this:  if you complete a six hour shift, you’ll receive a single adult day pass (for the same day you work your rostered shift).

How to Apply

Volunteer applications are now open.

We suggest you read the Volunteer Team and Position Descriptions prior to starting the application form, taking note of availability requirements.  Then, submit your Volunteer Application Form by 31 May, 2019.

Important Dates

Please submit your volunteer application by 31 May 2019.

Volunteers will be notified of the outcome of their submission by 14 June 2019.

I've applied, what happens next?

We will go through each application as they arrive and do our best to let you know, as soon as possible, whether you have made the team or not.   If you’re selected, you’ll have some time to clarify any necessary information and make updates to your availability. 

We understand that sometimes life gets in the way of good things and from time to time people need to withdraw their application, it would be appreciated if you could make your decision BEFORE 1 August when we get started on the rostering process as after that it really makes our job super tricky!
